Continuing with our little list of homemade cleaning products, I thought the logical way to go now would be with dish soap.
I didn't have my own personal recipe, but I've come across a great one on the website howtodothings.com .
So save some energy and let go of that dishwasher and save some money and make your own dish soap with leftover soap bars!
Here is the recipe:
Solid Soap Shavings dish soap
You can use your leftover bits of bar soap to make a liquid soap that's suitable for dish washing! This is a great way to stretch your budget and save a bit of money. Chop the soap bits up into very small pieces, or grate it into thin strips first. What you need is very simple:
* 2 cups of soap shavings
* 2-3 cups of hot water, plus more to dilute
Follow these steps when making the dish soap.
1. In a small bucket, place your soap shavings.
2. Cover with hot water and let it sit for several hours or overnight to soften.
3. In the morning, stir and mash the soap shavings until smooth. Add more hot water to dilute to preferred consistency.
4. You can add lemon juice or vinegar if you'd like, to help with cutting grease on dishes.
5. Pour into squeeze bottles or other containers. Shake well before use.

I'll be trying out this little recipe over the next few days, as I have a bunch of leftover soap bars. I'll let you know how it goes.
I have faith in it though, as the website it comes from has some pretty reliable recipes and tips.
After this, I might move on to other homemade products. I think it's enough with the cleaning, don't you?
